Spring time, detox time
We are about to be in the midst of delicious spring, and it’s one of the best times of year to do a body overhaul and detox.
Juice fast
Juice fasting isn’t for everyone, but it is a great way to give your body a break from digesting solid foods, and have a mini holiday. A 2-day detox is often all that’s needed for a quick boost to your weight loss efforts, as well as cleaning you out.
You would need between 3-4 juices per day and it is best that you either make them yourself, or have them freshly made for you. Having one fruit based juice and the remaining being vegetable is the ideal balance.
Green detoxing
Green foods are renowned for being highly detoxifying. One particular green food; chlorella is the champion of it. Chlorella has the ability to remove heavy metals and other toxic substances from the blood stream making it a very powerful internal cleansing food. You can find chlorella in your health food store and it comes in a powdered or tablet form.
Herbal detoxing
The liver is our main organ who’s function is to breakdown and remove waste for us, but with our modern day diets and lifestyle, it can fill up with fats and stop working for us properly. The herb St Mary’s Thistle can physically help our liver detox itself of these fats and work properly again. You can find St Mary’s thistle in capsule form in your health food store
Please consult your doctor, nutritionist or naturopath before embarking on any new health regime.
