SPIRULINA: AN EXCELLENT SOURCE OF PROTEIN

Spirulina: a Vegetarian Source of Protein

Did you know that spirulina is an excellent vegetarian source of protein. This super algae contains 65-71% complete protein compared to beef which has  22%.

Spirulina’s amino acids are easily digested so they  can be used to repair and build important proteins in the body including muscles, skin, hair, and nails. Protein is also important for producing white blood cells and antibodies, vital for helping the body fight off infections. Including protein-rich foods with meals is a great way to curb sugar cravings too.

Why Boost Your Protein Intake

Protein gives you a sense of satiety after a meal and will help keep blood sugar levels balanced, which in turn helps prevent sugar cravings and reduces the likelihood of you snacking on unhealthy foods. This makes spirulina a beneficial addition to weight loss programs too. Spirulina also contains chromium and magnesium, two important minerals that help stabilise blood sugar levels.
