Clients always ask me; How did you get to where you are now with food?
Well, it all honestly started with Self-Love! My inner critic was very loud for a very long time and always got the better of me. It was controlling me and my relationship with food for a very long time.
I slowly started to love myself through conscious eating. Most of our anxieties, fears, worries and inner conflicts arise from a lack of self-love. The first thing I needed to tackle was to identify and eradicate the root causes of all the guilt, shame, insecurity and self-beat I was feeling deep within. I call this ‘’radical self-acceptance’’.
I believe that one of the most primal and significant acts of self-love is by cooking for yourself and practicing conscious eating.
When we pour love in to cooking our food that love flows in to us. When we take the time to truly nurture ourselves by making our own food, sitting down while eating, practicing gratitude and enjoying our food mindfully we build a sense of trust in ourselves relieving stress.
Try this week. Cook one of two meals for yourself + notice the difference of how you feel after eating a home cooked meal cooked with love.
