ALKALISE YOUR BODY WITH SUPER GREENS

Posted by Carolyn Lees on

Why is your body's pH balance important?

The body has an acid-alkaline ratio called its pH. Cells inside the body function better when they are slightly alkaline. Maintaining a healthy body pH is important for good health. The body continually works on  balancing the pH of its fluids and tissues, however if this balance is compromised we can become more vulnerable to illness and disease and accelerated ageing.

 The Dangers of Acidosis

If the body becomes too acidic - called ‘acidosis’ - it can contribute to a range of conditions including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, immune deficiencies, accelerated free radical damage, premature aging, and osteoporosis.

An Antidote to an Overly Acidic System

Our diets play a big role in keeping our body’s pH in check. Acidosis is very common in today’s society due to our poor diets reliant on acid-forming foods such as processed sugary foods, coffee, and animal products like meat and cheese, and not enough alkaline-forming foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables. Green veggie juices with a spoonful of of super greens powder is the perfect antidote for an overly acidic system. Super greens contain alkalising super foods: spirulina, chlorella, wheat grass and barley grass

For optimum health and prevention of disease it is recommended that your diet be made up of around 80% alkaline to 20% acid forming foods.
